The Gift

It was christmas morning 2009. Irushed to the over decorated tree and looked for the biggest present with my name on it. I found one and instanly ripped it open. it was a remote control helicopter. I tore open the box and released the helicopter from its cardboard prison. The helicopter was jet balack, the sort of colour a ninja would wear in the night. The helicopter was so realistic it was like someone had just shrunk a helicopter from a war. When you held the remote control it felt lke it belonged to be there, the sheer power from just holding it made never want to put it down.

I found any batteries I could and carefully inserted them into the controller. I attached the helicopter to the charge cord. It seemed like an eternity waiting for the little green light to stop flashin but when i finally did I was so excited I literaly shed a tear of joy. I called all of my family members together so they could witness this historic moment. I cleared the area I designated launch pad and turned the helicopter on. I pushed the sticks to full power, the propellers immediatly spun ferociously into life, liftin the light body of the helicopter high into the sky. The feeling I got when flying the "Black Beauty" was like no other. As the helicopter ascended my heart rate pumped faster. I didn't know how to control the helicopter and it was getting closer to the trees by the secon. It was when a sparrow came millimetres form getting decapitaed that I Decided to cut the power. The lifeless helicopter fell out of the sky and herteled to the ground. It was like a person that had just jumped out of a burning building. I sprinted as fast as I could to inspect the damage of the crash landing. Miraculously the helicopter only had a broked propeller which was pretty easy to fix.

I'm not as terrible as I was now. Flying almost comes naturally. I can even control a flight from take off to landing if I'm lucky. I've had some exciting flight recently but nothing will ever match that flight on December 25, 2009.
